BlogPaws West, the second conference this year put on by the great BlogPaws Team, is less than 2 weeks away.
And guess what? I am not only going to be there, I am going to be creating an artwork during the conference in collaboration with all of the attendees!
BlogPaws has commissioned me to create a Dialogues Mural as part of the BlogPaws West Conference in Denver, CO September 9-11, 2010.
A Dialogues Mural is a public artwork that I create on-site at an event with the help of event participants. Participants are encouraged to scribe their thoughts, ideas, reflections, drawings, etc. about the event’s theme, which I then incorporate into the mural using collage techniques.
A Dialogues Mural keeps the energy, inspiration and dialog going well after an event has concluded. Additionally, having an interactive artwork as part of an event creates a memorable attraction that lives on in the hearts of participants.
The theme for the BlogPaws mural is Hand to Hand – Paw to Paw: Celebrating the Worldwide Community of Pet Lovers.
I am very excited about creating the BlogPaws mural, as the organization and it’s purposes are very near and dear to my heart. I will get a chance to create an artwork with some of the most influential writers and entrepreneurs in the online pet community, and I will get to spend great times with friends who I have met online.
Are you coming to BlogPaws? If so, come prepared to share a thought, an image, a quote, or some other idea that will become a part of a collaborative piece of art. it isn’t hard. All you need to do is write your thought on a small piece of paper and submit it to be included with the thoughts shared by others in YOUR community.
I can’t wait to create and share dialogs with you!

Custom Pet Portraits / Contemporary Artwork of Cats, Dogs and other Animals
BZTAT Studios - In the heart of the Canton, OH Arts District
Meet (from left to right) Skittles, Junior and Marshmallow! These frisky fellows are Westies, or West Highland Terriers, that live in Perry, OH, a suburb of Canton. I was honored to paint their custom pet portrait as a gift to their favorite human from her parents.
Skittles and Junior are younger pups and from the same litter. Marshmallow is a bit older, but still very energetic. Can you imagine living with 3 Westies? the energy level in that home must be unbelievable!
They just moved into a new home that their family had custom built, and the portrait was commissioned as part of the new decor.
This painting was a bit of a challenge for me, as white fluffy dogs tend to be the most difficult to do in my style. Multiply that difficulty by three, and you have an even bigger challenge. And this was a larger painting–30″ H x 40″ W. But I enjoyed working on the piece and was pretty pleased with the end result.
What do you think?

Would you like a custom pet portrait of your pet?
I am no computer wiz, and on an artist’s budget, you have to do a lot of things for yourself. So it has taken me awhile to make it possible to purchase artwork directly off my website.
I have now developed some galleries with original paintings available for purchase, and you can purchase them directly from the galleries. I hope that you like them!
I have been told that my artwork makes great gifts for pet lovers. It also is great for decorating doctor’s offices, veterinarian’s offices, children’s rooms, and other family friendly spaces.
Stay tuned as I continue to develop new galleries with artwork that you can purchase if you desire, or just enjoy perusing.
Update: I have been told that some browsers are not picking up the links to purchasing pages. If your browser is one of them, please let me know in the comments. We are working to get it fixed. Thanks!
