Artist Vicki Boatright, known as “BZTAT” (pronounced bee-zee-tat), specializes in whimsical drawings, paintings and prints of cats, dogs and other companion animals.
BZTAT creates colorful customized pet portraits, which are unique in their original contemporary style.
BZTAT also creates murals and other artworks that address social issues, community development, and cultural diversity.
BZTAT Studios is located in the trendy Canton, OH arts district.
Vicki holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in the visual arts from Marshall University in Huntington, WV and a Masters Degree in counseling from Marshall University.
She is an accomplished artist as well as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She has worked as a child and family therapist since 1991.
Vicki has completed a number of public and private art commissions in addition to a large body of work that follows her own vision.
Her work encompasses a variety of styles and media however clear themes are evident throughout her work.
She is known for her vivid colorations, utilizing painting, drawing, assemblage/collage, and digital media to create interesting works of art.
Vicki has been involved in numerous community arts and social service projects in the Stark County, Ohio area and has created a number of “Dialogues” murals as public arts projects, incorporating the creative inspiration of others into her own artwork at community events.
BZTAT Studios is a regular participant in the First Friday monthly arts festival in the Canton Arts District, and BZTAT is an active advocate for the developement of the Canton Special Improvement District.
BZTAT Studios also works closely with Arts in Stark and other community organizations to develop downtown Canton, OH through the arts.
Vicki signs her artwork BZTAT in homage to a feline companion of that name, who was an artistic inspiration to her for 19 years.
